No standard accounting package caters specifically to the unique processes and ways of working which exist in the construction industry, so incorporating Sage construction software can offer a fully integrated approach. All job related transactions are entered through the Construction interface so you can report on and maintain job information, whilst the transactions post through to your accounting software.

Accessing your data from the Sage Construction software range could not be easier, a suite of reports are available in the system which suit most users needs, including several customisable Work In Progress Reports (WIP). If however, you have more specific requirements from your reporting the Sage report writer is incorporated, or perhaps you already know the Access or Crystal report writers, if so you can also use these to extract the specific data you need, in the format you want.

Because the data flows from Sage Construct directly to your Sage Accounts and Payroll software there is no need to double enter any job related information. When you enter a purchase invoice into Construct the financial information feeds to your accounts, you will possibly see 3 transactions in your accounts, one for the purchase invoice itself, the second for a CIS deduction and the third only if you are holding retentions. Once you pay your sub contractor in the accounts, your Sage construction software will read this information back and do all the calculations necessary for the online CIS return, the system will then also print sub-contractor statements for you. The way the data is stored means you can report on jobs at any stage, showing actual costs verses committed costs against your budgets, enabling you to identify any potential overspends and therefore giving you the opportunity to rectify them immediately.

The return on investment can be very fast, if the system were to save you just 1% on contracting costs by reducing overspends, as they would be identified at the point of transaction as opposed to at the end of the contract, you would likely recoup the investment on your construction software within your first year.
